Instagram or LinkedIn: which is right for a small business in Slovenia?
How to pick one platform and do it well, instead of being everywhere at half effort.
Being present on every platform sounds safe, but in practice it means you're not visible enough anywhere. For a small business, the rule is simple: one platform done well, a second one only if needed.
Instagram, if the decision is visual and fast
Hospitality, tourism, trades, beauty, products, spaces, food, events. People decide based on what they see, and the decision is quick. This is where photography and short video are worth the investment.
LinkedIn, if you sell to other businesses
LinkedIn suits consulting, B2B services, technology and training, where decisions take longer and often involve several people. First-hand insights, specific examples and a visible personal point of view build credibility here.
Facebook is still the local noticeboard here
For services in smaller towns and for an older audience, Facebook still brings enquiries, mostly through groups and locally targeted ads — not through page posts.
If you're not sure where your customers are, we start with one platform and three months of tracking. After that it's clear whether a second one is worth adding.
